Did you write the letter I want something more Take me to the places That I’ve never been before Feel the world begin to move See the fading lights glow brighter again We can close our eyes when we go down the slide We can sail the seven seas We can fill ourselves like a glutton for love You and I while the worlds collide Did you hear the stories They’re banging at the door Wailing mothers at their feet Why does he ignore

Wonder how much faster I could go Wonder how much further down this road Wonder where I would be tomorrow I feel the wind blow Everything seems slow And this blue ride seems never ending Watching the fireflies Would I get to the end of the world before the sunrise When everything gets bright Would I get to forget and start over again Wonder where I would be tomorrow I feel the wind blow Everything seems slow And this blue ride seems never ending

Waiting for far too long Places you don’t belong Underneath the dusty piles Way overdue to rise and shine The dreams last night, they were real There is no reason not to smile On this endless spinning ground Not gonna wait around to be found Riding high on the reverie Tiny wings are flying free They can’t break me with sticks and stones They can’t stop me I’m on the run Come out here sleepyheads Forget the comfort of your bed Beautiful day ahead No more demons, they’re all dead The dreams last night they were real There is no reason not to smile Living on endless spinning ground The whole world to play around Riding high on the reverie Tiny wings are flying free They can’t break me with sticks and stones They can’t stop me, I’m on the run Riding high on the reverie How much brighter tomorrow would be They can’t break me with sticks and stones They can’t stop me, I’m on the run

Here I go again All wondering, wishing, cursing, screaming This mad charade that I’ve been playing Hello used to come so easy Why should I refrain from what I’ve longed to say That I think of you sometimes Would you want me around Is it my delusion Here it goes again My heart above my head Wanting what it can’t attain (All these emotions I can’t explain) Your eyes seem to search my soul Would you want to know (Wish I could show you) What I’ve longed to say Do you think of me sometimes Would you want me around Is it my delusion If only you could read my mind I’ve been waiting all my life to see your reaction Your crash and burns Your laughs and yearns Your falls and stalls I know them all My dearest friend (The one I hold) My smile and pain (Keeps me afloat) Should I leave them all behind to see your reaction Just leave them all behind Would you think of me sometime Would you want me around Is it my delusion If only you could read my mind I’ve been waiting all my life to see your reaction (I’ve been waiting all my life) To see your reaction (I’ve been waiting all my life) I see your reaction

So hard to leave you know It’s hard to say good bye But I’ll be gone today Somewhere far away Far, far away Somewhere far away Two o’clock this morning and I’m dreaming Ocean waves crashing on my door Never been so far away from you I don’t think I’d live another day If I go across the ocean I’ll be closer to you If you’d tell me what’s on your mind Then I’ll know what to do Six o’clock this morning and I’m leaving I can’t take the coldness in my heart Always thought you would be here forever A fantasy is all it really was The night begins to fall I won’t wait for your call

You would wear me down with that look in your eyes A pair of sparkles free of any kind of lies Left you in the corner of my heart Maybe you have been there from the start And you would wear me down with all your constant whine Love your nose close to mine but I run out of time Left you in the corner of my heart Maybe you have been there from the start But if we’re both so lonely Won’t you come with me There’s a world out there you might like to see And if we’re both so lonely Won’t you come with me Home never seems too far with you by my side And you would wear me down with all your constant whine Love your nose close to mine but I run out of time Left you in the corner of my heart Maybe you have been there from the start I wonder if you only knew (If you were here tonight) I want to see the colors through your point of view Your peaceful mind When the world thinks I’m unkind I long for your unjaded eyes

One lazy Sunday afternoon Looking through the window of your room White clouds sail the sky and the whole world slowly goes by You play the sweetest melody The one forever in my memory My secret hideaway to watch the world slowly go by Safe and sound (When you’re around) Where I could close my tired eyes I like the way we let time fly Leave all the troubles far behind Pour yourself a glass of wine And treasure a day so fine The corner where we dance to your favorite song The rhythm that you play I would sing along A little happy place where we sit down Watching the world slowly go by Just you and your beautiful mind

You’d tell me to go but you want me to stay Shouldn’t you know I’ll never go away That look on your face, I have no words to say What have you done and how you got this way It’s not that easy but I wouldn’t mind What we have I thought I would never find Maybe you really are the crazy kind But still, life with you is like Sugar, sweeter than sugar You got me wrapped around your finger Sugar, high on your sugar What you make me do, you don’t even know You don’t even know You don’t even know You always move with a funny sway I see your smile and you make my day That look on your face, I have no words to say I guess that’s how you always get your way It’s not that easy but I wouldn’t mind What we have I thought I would never find Maybe I really am the cheesy kind But still, life with you is like Sugar, sweeter than sugar You got me wrapped around your finger Sugar, high on your sugar What you make me do, you don’t even know You don’t even know You got me wrapped around your finger And still, life with you is just like sugar

Would you ride through my thoughts Path to darkness, peaks of lights Would you try to understand where I’m coming from And why I go Would you come and stay here for a while Can you spare a little time We won’t be picture perfect forever But we’ve got to try Would you come and take a ride with me Would you try to see what I see When all that we lost has been found Let’s go for another round Would you come and take a ride with me I know you want to be free But there’s a place right beside me where I let you be I let you be Would you come and take a ride with me Would you try to see what I see When all that we lost has been found Let’s go for another round Take a ride with me Take a ride with me though you want to be free There’s a place right beside me where I let you be I let you be So come on take a ride Come on take a ride Come on take a ride with me

about

Inspired by Sarah Record's heyday with a touch of the shoegazing bliss of Creation and 4AD Records, Starry Eyed Cadet formed in San Francisco in the Spring of 2013. This Bay Area quintet is a mix of members from various backgrounds, from such established bands as Marine Life (Elefant Records) and The Parties (Rainbow Quartz), to Jazz and Brazilian Pop.

Having been long time friends and fellow indie music lovers, it wasn't until an impromptu jam session on an uneventful Sunday evening that brought the band together. Even though they identify themselves mostly as indie pop, the band's main intention is for every member to freely write and compose, regardless of any influence or style. With all band members as active songwriters and composers, they describe themselves as "all over the place" but remain glued together by everyone's similar sound sensibilities.

In 2014, they released their first demo single ‘On The Run’ on Bandcamp, which fortunately found its way to the ears of Roque Ruiz of Cloudberry Records, as well as played on Scotland's "Alan's Midweek Madhouse" and college radio KDVS in Sacramento, California, where it was well received. They eventually completed their debut self-titled EP in late 2014, where it caught the attention of Maz Hadid of NYC Popfest, and landed a spot on NYC Popfest 2015 lineup opening for indie pop legend and one of the band's initial inspirations, Club 8. A very special moment indeed for the band as they were proud to be part of such a prestigious music festival that features the best in new and classic indie pop.

After their performance at NYC Popfest, the band was introduced to Fastcut Records by fellow NYC Popfest performer and soon-to-be label mate Wallflower from Japan. Starry Eyed Cadet is to release their debut LP "Places We Don't Belong" in the summer of 2016.

Starry Eyed Cadet are Gil Castro (keyboard), Rex Padayhag (bass), Rob Uytingco (drums), Ron Songco (guitar), and Sally Jati (guitar). Everyone in the band has to sing at some point.
